Waarom denk je dat je zo goed bij Cortazu past?
I am a jack of all trades with a keen eye for detail. I am an ocean racer, Land Rover builder, and hardcore outdoor enthusiast. This has led me to love the outdoors, especially initiatives focused on the environment. I need tough gear that can withstand the test from trail to sea. This is where I believe I have met my match. From the people to the level of care in every little intricacy of the garments—even those I thought were never needed—I believe South Africa could benefit from a little Cortazu; indeed, we all could.

Based on product research and the demand for high-quality gear in South Africa, I would say these products would work well here; both the price and quality are good.

Wat trekt je aan in reizen en fotografie?
I love culture, IPAs, and adventure, especially experiencing things for the first time. As we age, these opportunities often become rarer, but through photography, we can both showcase and relive these experiences. For me, the best part is definitely the cultures, along with the people you meet. There’s nothing like trying a new local dish.
Wat is je beste reisherinnering?
Hanging 25 meters in the air during the Ocean Globe Race, fixing things—because fixing things is what I do best.
Jokes aside, this was the moment for me when I had accomplished the impossible. Being South African and participating in the round-the-world race is incredible. I was shortlisted from 1,600 people for just one spot. To me, this is my favorite memory. Sailing as they did in 1973.
