Why hikers trust Cortazu
Tested in real rain and wind. Rated 4.8/5 by our customers. Here's what that looks like.
Time for a new shell?
Most hikers start looking when their old jacket gives up: it wets out, or it's simply worn through. Make the switch to a shell tested on the trail, in real weather, without paying extra for a big-brand logo.
You're not the first
Trying a brand you don't know yet feels like a risk, especially when you can't try the jacket on first. Thousands of hikers took that step before you, and we make it easy to get it right.
From the fit to the finishing, we refine our designs around the things you do in the outdoors. Discover the details.

Our most protective waterproof fabric: Barrier CT Pro™. Waterproof, breathable fabric developed to our specifications and tested by an independent laboratory.
Which jacket to choose, how to find your size, and how you know it keeps you dry.
It depends on how you keep warm and how much you carry. Alpine is an uninsulated shell for layering: wear it over a base layer and add a fleece when it gets cold. Delta INS has insulation built in for cold days, winter walks, and travel. Aero is the lightest of the three at 300 g, and it packs into its own pocket for days when rain might come. Still not sure? The Product Finder matches you to a jacket in six questions.
Every product page shows the model's height and the size they wear, so you can compare against your own height. All our jackets are a regular fit with room to layer underneath. If it doesn't feel right, you have 21 days to return or exchange it in the EU. Or try it on first in our Amsterdam store at Bilderdijkstraat 136H.
Our shells use Barrier CT, a waterproof-breathable fabric we develop ourselves with specialist suppliers. We have it tested by an independent lab for waterproofing, breathability, and abrasion, and we publish the full results so you can check them yourself.
We sell mainly direct, and we don't pay a licence fee for a branded membrane. That leaves out a large part of what usually goes into the price of a technical jacket. What you pay for is the jacket itself, backed by a 3-year warranty and a repair service if it ever needs one.
